Rubina Srikureja, founder of Rubynnastory. Based in Bangkok, Thailand. 

Being born and raised in a big city like Bangkok, I didn’t have many interactions with nature growing up, but the roots of trees always intrigued me. Eventually I grew to understand nature as being part of us, how healing the soil feels in your fingernails, how the chirping of birds can both annoy and brighten my mood at the same time and how the unfurling of a new leaf in my garden provides me with a sense of achievement. 

My work is a celebration of the patterns in nature, the twirls and twist, the symbiotic relationships that are almost to perfection intertwined with human perseverance, growth and faith. We are metaphors for what occurs in nature and I explore the symmetry and connections in these relationships.
