Creative in Bangkok
What are your hobbies? What do you do for fun in Bangkok?
When I was working full time with long hours, I remember needing an outlet. I don’t think I ever had a proper routine for the outlet or had any particular one. I just remember needing to go out for a walk, browsing through galleries just to calm my mind down from all the busy. BACC was my favourite wander. My mind would go through every possible thing from leads, training, data analysis and most importantly how can I improve so that the company (not mine) prosper. It was chaos, my mind I mean.

Although I love a good stroll, pottering into a random alley way, discovering a new neighbourhood, it’s hot in Bangkok with quite a bit of pollution, so walks aren’t always the most suitable outlet. I found another one quite quickly, and I remember slowly teasing out threads from tiny scraps of fabrics (left over from cushion cover making) and re-winding them into rainbow tassels to calm my mind. It worked too, it settled my thoughts and gave it space to breathe. Sometimes I would tease the threads for hours before I would stop thinking about work. Feel the colours and how they compliment each other and turn them into beautiful shades of tassels. I loved them, they were my imagination come to life. The act of using my hands to created something, especially from waste, it is a true bliss giving something a second life. It was my safe space, my meditation and my opportunity to think outside the box of work.
Today a decade later, I want to share this feeling of joy in creation with you. Need to calm your mind for an afternoon in Bangkok? Get creative with painting from upcycled materials? Enjoy conversations about colour with me? How different combinations sparks different emotions. Join me for earring making workshops and go home with something you created yourself.
I would be there to guide you on the direction you take and the techniques, but you will have full creative freedom. There are no restrictions, only exploration and enjoyment. Take an hour or two to get away from the bustling streets of Bangkok and book your session with me. Bring a friend or two and turn it into an afternoon of creative connections.
I started the workshops last year and anyone who joined seemed to have a blast. We got chatting, connected over conversations and I witnessed some incredible creations. The sessions were dependant on events, but now that I have my art studio, the sessions are all year round. Want to learn more about the workshop entails? Head here for more details.
