💙 Head in the Clouds
A dream-filled sky. Representing the likeness between the neurons in our brains and the stars in the sky. If you stand far away enough, the tree looks like a brain lit up with commands and emotions. A piece that reminds us how to dream big and to never stop learning. Some have said the stars looks like fireflies in the trees. Magic is all around us, it is a matter of perspective!
💜 Heart in the Ocean
A depiction of where my heart belongs. I am a diver and am fascinated with the ecosystem of the ocean. This is a painting that embodies all the love I have for the beautiful corals and sea animals. You’ll spot the little octopus wrapping its tentacles around the anatomical heart, while flowers and corals bloom around the heart. A contemporary and slightly surreal piece with butterflies and flowers blooming from the anatomical heart reef. Under water is where the heart blooms as brightly as the corals.
🧡 Through the Fire
A passion piece. We always hear ‘don’t wait to pursue your dreams,’ but I believe the right time will come for you. This piece is about being patient with your passion, nurturing it like a plant and waiting to see the flowers bloom. The reason you see the eye in the flower is because I believe that you can tell someone is passionate through the fire through their eyes. The eyes are a window to your soul. Warm colours that will motivate and encourage growth.
💚 Within the Trees
A piece that is slightly personal. A lot of Asian countries have bad air quality and I find that mind blowing that politicians and people in power do not think the bad air will affect them or their family. Good air is a basic requirement for all humans to breathe and this painting was done as a small protest. With trees our lungs flourish and bloom, hence the branches and flowers in the shape of a pair of lungs are hidden behind the trees. Amongst the Trees is where we can flourish, where our body heals and becomes one with nature.
You’ve been with me a while and know that my paintings almost always embodies nature and its wonderful teachings. These paintings are just that, a little learning of growing, whether it is spiritual growth, intellectual growth or emotional growth. I think as humans we should keep growing because there is so much to learn from. There are so many incredible things out there, unfurling as we speak. 🌱

A little wrap up of 2025 🦋
It was a roller coaster year of choosing between sticking with Rubynnastory or returning to the corporate life. I decided Rubynnastory was worth the struggle, no matter how difficult it got, because of all the little wins.
♥ I got to be part of group exhibitions and bigger community events.
♥ Hosted a magnificent earring workshop day at the International Women’s Day event, more to come for sure!
♥ Created an art collective, MASH Collective, with 2 incredible artists using our upcycling and creative skills to encourage mindfulness and eco conscious workshops.
♥ Exhibited in Mango Art Festival with my Unrooted Collection and made so many beautiful connections. The fact that my paintings spoke to you means everything.
♥ My ETSY Shop went live and I even received sales. Slow and steady?
♥ Sent out paintings to 2 more shops as consignments, Husband and Wife Farm, and into Phuket @coastal.phuket🌴
♥ Outsourced some of my upcycled crafts to a lovely refugee supporting her children’s education.
♥ Last but not least, together we donated 6,580thb to various communities and causes. This included support for earthquake and flood relief efforts, refugees supporting their children, cancer research in the name of my friend who passed away this year, as well as wildlife foundations & friends caring for animals.
While the total is smaller than in previous years, Rubynnastory is now my main source of income, so I’ve had to be more mindful in balancing the accounts. I’m super grateful to everyone who continues to support my work, and stick around for the stories. Let’s keep growing, supporting the communities and creating together 🧡💜💙 If you have no plans or resolution for this year, have only one, to learn something new, grow widthwise and otherwise!
