Mumbai! Smog filled, traffic-crazy, sweat trickling but so many incredible smiles and the loveliest vibes! I had an absolutely FULL-filling experience because mannnn, the food was absolutely incredible. We ate and ate and saw art, bought books and ate some more! I will only talk to you about the art though because that is what I do! You can food blog somewhere not here teehee.
Let’s get to it. Through my research before going I saw Kala Ghoda as the artsy fartsy hippie area and was absolutely excited about that. However, we did not have very much time (with all the food we wanted to eat!) to explore that area. Next time though. And yes, there is a next time, I am definitely visiting again. Anyhow, we had a day in Bandra instead and my friends who live there took us around quirky little shops and graffiti filled streets! My perfect kind of day.
The first stop was Kulture Shop, this really cute ‘hole in the 2nd floor wall’ art shop that promotes Indian artists from all over the world. They sell prints and even transform the graphics into tote bags, t-shirts and little bits&bobs like pouches, coasters and so much more. It was adorable and quirky with some beautiful and very interesting graphic pieces. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and even met the gorgeous and friendly ‘Parul’, such a lovely name.
From then on we popped over to Waroda Road, thinking it was Chapel Road, that was suggested to us by Parul, to check out street art. Did not realise I was in the wrong place until I researched my findings when I returned home. Absolute John Snow, I know nothing. Waroda Road was colourful with so many fun quotes. Some fun quirky little stores that we had to breeze through because of little time. Yes little time becomes a theme here, I mean what can you expect from just a long weekend. I did get the most adorable pair of earrings though!
Mumbai! Artsy, quirky, exciting with stunning sunsets and an eccentric vibe! Hopefully I will get another chance soon to write more about more of Mumbai. I feel like there is so much I am missing out on, any suggestions for my future endeavours are more than welcome.
